Exam registration for private candidates

If your examination board is Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and Pearson Edexcel, you will need to complete your registration form online through the School Exams Registration System.

Please make sure you provide a valid e-mail ID as all communications about your registration will be sent directly to your e-mail account automatically.

• You will find the fees for all exams on the School Registration System. Your registration will not be processed until you have paid for your exams.
• Payment can be made by debit or credit card. 
• Payment made is subject to the bank's transaction terms and conditions.

Alternative payment options (non-cards):

• You can also pay via online bank transfer, cash or cheque at our British Council centres in Kuala Lumpur or Penang. 
• Please contact us via the email addresses of our centres below to obtain full details and instructions for online bank transfer, cash or cheque deposit.
• For online bank transfer, please select "IBG – Interbank GIRO” instead of “Instant Bank Transfer" during payment transaction. 
• For cash/ cheque deposit, it must be made through the Citibank counter and not via cash/ cheque deposit machine. Payment description must be stated clearly.
• For payment made by online bank transfer, cash or cheque deposit, please email a copy of the remittance slip to the respective examination centre that you have registered with. Registration will be processed upon receipt and validation of the copy of the remittance slip. The email addresses of our centres are as below.

Penalty fees

Each examination board has a normal registration stage for each exam session. You may still be able to register for exams after this date, but you will have to pay a penalty fee. You can email us at info@britishcouncil.org.my find more information about late registration penalty fees. 

Once you have regeistered online and paid all fees, you will need to email us the below to info@britishcouncil.org.my (for KL candidates) / penang@britishcouncil.org.my (for Penang candidates).

• A recent coloured passport-size photographs. It must be taken within the past three months.
• A clear copy of your valid Malaysia ID or passport which you have registered for your exam. If there is a change of ID or passport, please notify our centres at least five days before your exam.
