Follow these simple steps to register for your IGCSE (International GCSE) and school exams:

Step 1: Complete your registration online

If your examination board is Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), you will need to complete your registration form online through the School Exams Registration System.

Please make sure you provide a valid e-mail ID as all communications about your registration will be sent directly to your e-mail account automatically.

Step 2: Pay for your exams

You will find the fees for all exams on the School Registration System. Your registration will not be processed until you have paid for your exams.

You can also pay via online bank transfer, cash, credit-card or cheque at our British Council centres in Kuala Lumpur or Penang.

Important notes

  • For cash/ cheque deposit, it must be made through the Citibank counter and not via cash/ cheque deposit machine. Payment description must be stated clearly.
  • For payment made by online bank transfer, cash or cheque deposit, please email a copy of the bank-in slip to the respective examination centre that you have registered with. The email addresses of our centres are as below:

Penalty fees

Each examination board has a normal registration stage for each exam session. You may still be able to register for exams after this date, but you will have to pay a penalty fee. You can email us at info@britishcouncil.org.my find more information about late registration penalty fees. 

Step 3: Email us your photo and ID/ passport for verification and confirmation

Once you have regeistered online and paid all fees, you will need to email us the below to info@britishcouncil.org.my

  • A recent coloured passport-size photographs. It must be taken within the past three months.
  • A clear copy of your valid Malaysia ID or passport which you have registered for your exam. If there is a change of ID or passport, please notify our centres at least five days before your exam. 

Need to amend your entry?

Please note that you have to email us at info@britishcouncil.org.my or visit the local British Council office for any changes in your exam registration. There will be service charge depending on the level of entry at the time of request for this service.
