Role overview

Job Responsibilities:

 The post holder will ensure that the management of human resources in Malaysia supports the operations of the directorate and is consistent with British Council regional/ global practice.

  • To provide full spectrum of HR in supporting country-appointed staff.
  • To assist recruiting managers (Local Staff & Teaching Center) staffing needs and advise on sourcing options. This includes intranet, internet, recruitment agencies and UK recruitment team.
  • To ensure Performance Management practices are in place and that core training is provided to staff and line managers.
  • To coordinate and track completion of mandatory training.
  • To assist in communicating HR-related information to staff by posting updated information/ forms on Intranet, at HR team meetings and staff meetings.
  • To support the team to track equal opportunity and diversity issues, implement systems and practices that enable fair employment and diversity within the workplace.

Job Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources or related qualification.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience inclusive of handling expatriates and payroll.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and language skills in both spoken and written English.
  • Sensitive and discreet in dealing with confidential matters and having good organisational skills.
