Arts Policy, Cultural Democracy and Artist Communities

Arts Policy, Cultural Democracy and Artist Communities, an ANCER Lab Series event, was a critical conversation aimed at enriching the cultural policy discourse in Southeast Asia held in January 2019. Convening in Kuala Lumpur to focus on Malaysia, the symposium brings together resource persons from the region as well as Malaysia for a one and a half day event that invites artists, arts and culture workers, funders and patrons, researchers, audience members and anyone with a vested interest in art, culture, heritage or creative industries, to join the conversation.

This event was organised by LASALLE College of the Arts and the Cultural Centre, University of Malaya with the support of the British Council, National Pingtung University, and National Taiwan University of Arts. ANCER (Asia-Pacific Network for Cultural Education Research) is an initiative of LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore to foster dialogue on arts and culture in Asia.
