Aptis Combined Score is a pilot service that enables you to reattempt any of the 4 components – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, of the Aptis test. It is an opportunity for you to try to get a higher score on a component, or components, without resitting for a full test, and improve on your overall Aptis score and CEFR level.
How does the Aptis Combined Score work?
- You must have taken a 4-skill Aptis test that covers Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
- When you choose to reattempt your Aptis test, you can only reattempt 1 component each time in a day.
- For each reattempt of the Aptis test, you can choose to reattempt up to 3 components of your choice.
- For each component, you can reattempt it a maximum of 3 times.
- Your first reattempt of the Aptis test must be taken within 3 months from the date of your initial 4-skill Aptis test.
- Your second or third reattempt of the Aptis test must be taken within 6 months from the date of your initial 4-skill Aptis test.
- Aptis Combined Score Service recognises the latest reattempt test score as the final score, regardless the score is higher or lower than the earlier test score(s). It is important to note that the final score cannot be reversed to the earlier score(s).
- Your overall score and CEFR level which are derived from your initial 4-skill Aptis test will also be updated based on the final score of your reattempt component(s).
- Aptis Combined Score is available for face-to-face Aptis testing only.
We ensure you that the Aptis test specification, task development and rating scales are based on the CEFR. We have a comprehensive research agenda, ongoing control and monitoring to ensure the reliability and accuracy of Aptis scores.
