Role overview

Based in our Kuala Lumpur and Mutiara Damansara branches, the Teaching Assistant Coordinator will be required to recruit, coordinate and supervise a teach of Teaching Assistants to meet our English language teaching requirements. The British Council gives English teaching to many young learners (aged 5-17) and the Teaching Assistants play a key role in ensuring successful learning. 

As the Teaching Assistant Coordinator your duties will include:

 •Recruitment of Teaching Assistant (TA) staff to cover classes in both branches

•Giving inductions, organising training days and arranging the schedule of TA work

•Occasional covering for TA staff yourself when required

•Arrange proper supervision and ensure that child protection guidelines are followed

•Manage communication between Teachers, British Council staff and learners’ parents

•Helping to coordinate and support events

Ideally, you will have at least two years of practical experience in a similar coordination role, or experience working in class administration. A degree in any discipline is required, as are good communication skills in English and Bahasa.
