Role overview
The Kuala Lumpur teaching centre is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city. It is open 7 days a week and serves both adult students and young learners, and is one of the largest centres in the East Asia region with more than sixty teachers from a variety of different countries.
For adult students we offer full-time courses and myClass from Elementary to Advanced as well as IELTS preparation courses. Classes are largely multi-national with many students either young professionals or students looking to improve their English before they start courses at universities here or overseas. We also have a large number of Malaysian school leavers in the first half of the year.
Young learner courses are offered to pre-school, primary and secondary age students and these classes mostly take place at the weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
You will collaborate with teachers and managers working across Malaysia (including Penang). The Kuala Lumpur centre runs regular CELTA, CELTYL and Distance DELTA courses and there is a strong culture of professional development amongst our teaching teams across the branches.
Responsibilities include:
•Ensuring teaching meets learner needs and expectations
•Ensuring teaching meets Teaching Quality standards and organisational expectations
•Maintaining good relationships with customers and colleagues
•Supporting the teaching centre’s activities and British Council plans
The post holder must have Malaysia working visa at the time of application
