The British Council East Asia is looking to procure a Consultant with expertise and track record in public relations, content production, event management and digital media. This role will work closely with the Study UK and the Education team of the British Council, Malaysia for the Alumni Awards 2022.

Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties: 

The consultant should demonstrate the ability to:

  • To develop a full communications strategy, plan and execution of the campaign, incorporating target audiences, recommended media selection, media buys and use of finalists, ambassadors and partners to increase engagement levels.
  • To ensure adherence to British Council brand guidelines.
  • To ensure proper licensing and copyright of all data, photos and illustrations are followed.
  • To comply with British Council policies, media law and ethical guidelines.

Criteria and Skills: 

The consultant should demonstrate the following expertise and experience:

  • Passionate and driven about doing work that matters and creates positive influence, in an environment that values diversity and thrives on creativity • Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills in English language
  • Experience and understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and data analysis would be preferred
  • Previous evidence of having undertaken editing and formatting work for high level reports and proceedings with the capability to think, articulate and write logically
  • Portfolio of data visualisation samples • Hands on experience with MS Office and InDesign, Photoshop or other publishing tools
  • Strong problem-solving ability applied in a structured way
  • An eye for detail
  • A collaborator; ability to work as part of a small team as directed by the Malaysia Education team and Head of Communications and Insights hub but at the same time, self -directed and able to work independently to strict deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to contribute to the development of approaches to ensure high quality report/publications
