British Council Damansara is located in a shopping mall in a busy shopping and residential area about 16km from the Kuala Lumpur branch, which is in the heart of the capital. The Damansara centre has ten classrooms and is primarily a young learner centre, meaning that the centre is busiest at weekends. Young Learners students are aged from 5 – 17. There are also some adult classes, with myClass being offered on weekday evenings, as well as some off-site work teaching in private schools to primary age students.

The British Council in Damansara is recruiting a Senior Teacher to join our Teaching Centre in October 2017.

The Teaching Centres in Kuala Lumpur benefit from a wide range of ICT and teaching resources, and provide many opportunities for training and development, including funding for DELTA, the TYLEC and a full programme of INSETT training. You will work closely with the team in Damansara, and with the academic teams in KL centre.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a Team player and team leader, able to lead and motivate others, and support a range of levels of experience among the teaching staff
  • Is customer focussed and can maintain good relationships with parents and customers and present British Council positively
  • Has experience both in training and supporting teachers and in materials development and course planning

Is able to take on a role of responsibility and leadership in the Damansara centre – to include some timetabling, managing teachers’ time and work, and ensuring the centre runs smoothly
